Conference Travel and Transportation

There are three major local airports in the Washington, DC area:

  • DCA – Ronald Reagan National Airport just outside Washington, DC, and a short trip to the Grand Hyatt hotel.
  • IAD – Dulles International Airport in Dulles, Virginia, and about a half hour or longer trip to the Grand Hyatt hotel.
  • BWI – Baltimore-Washington International Airport in Baltimore, Maryland, and about 45 minutes or longer to the Grand Hyatt hotel.

Traveling from DCA to the Grand Hyatt Hotel

  • Take a cab (roughly $30)
  • Take an Uber or Lyft (roughly $15-$30)
  • Take a Super Shuttle (roughly $15 when booked round-trip)
  • Take Metro rail (roughly $2)
    • Follow signs to the Ronald Reagan Airport Metro station from inside the terminal. Purchase a fare card with at least $5 in credit (accepts cash, debit, or credit cards). Enter the station, and follow signs for a Blue Line train heading in the direction of Largo Town Center. Go 8 stops, exiting the train at the Metro Center station. Follow signs for the Grand Hyatt hotel.

Traveling from IAD to the Grand Hyatt Hotel

  • Take a cab (roughly $60 or more)
  • Take an Uber or Lyft (roughly $30 or more)
  • Take a Super Shuttle (roughly $35 when booked round-trip)
  • Take Metro rail (roughly $10, but a long trip!)
    • Follow signs to the Metrobus route 5A. The bus will drop you off at the Rosslyn station, a Metro rail station on the Blue Line. Purchase a fare card with at least $5 in credit (accepts cash, debit, or credit cards). Enter the station, and follow signs for a Blue Line train heading in the direction of Largo Town Center. Go 4 stops, exiting the train at the Metro Center station. Follow signs for the Grand Hyatt hotel.

Traveling from BWI to the Grand Hyatt Hotel

  • Take a cab (roughly $70 or more)
  • Take an Uber or Lyft (roughly $40 or more)
  • Take a Super Shuttle (roughly $35 when booked round-trip)
  • Take Metro rail (roughly $10, but a long trip!)
    • Follow signs to the Metrobus route B30. The bus will drop you off at the Greenbelt station, a Metro rail station on the Green Line. Purchase a fare card with at least $10 in credit (accepts cash, debit, or credit cards). Enter the station, and follow signs for a Green Line train heading in the direction of Branch Avenue. Go 10 stops, exiting the train at the Gallery Place station. Transfer to a Red Line train (different level) in the direction of Shady Grove. Exit the train after one stop at Metro Center station. Follow signs for the Grand Hyatt hotel.

Transportation During the Conference

The Grand Hyatt sits directly on top of a Metro station – you won’t even have to go outside to utilize our subway system! A fare card is required to ride the Metro. Fares and routes on both the subway and the buses can be planned on the system’s website.

Cabs, Uber, and Lyft are available at all times!
